Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the crowned shield bearing the four vertical pales (bars) of Aragon is displayed within a ornate polylobed frame, with small floral rosettes decorating the cusps of the lobes. The overall composition is executed in the Gothic style typical of the Aragonese Crown coinage. The surrounding legend in Latin reads outward from the inner circle, separated by a cross pattee at the commencement.
