Reverse description Quartered shield displaying the royal arms of Castile and León: castles (towers) in the first and fourth quarters alternating with rampant lions in the second and third quarters, all set within a quadrilobe (four-lobed) frame with pellets at the cusps. The design is typical of mid-14th-century Castilian hammered silver coinage. A beaded border surrounds the quadrilobe, with the royal legend in Gothic Latin capitals occupying the outer circumference.
Reverse script Latin
Reverse lettering PETRVS REX CASTELLE E LEGIONIS
(Translation: Peter King of Castile and Leon)
