| Obverse description | Central field displays a Gothic crowned monogram of the letter 'E' (for Enrique/Henry), surmounted by a large royal crown rendered in relief, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The monogram and crown are executed in the Gothic style characteristic of late medieval Castilian coinage. A circular Latin legend runs between the inner beaded border and the outer toothed rim, reading continuously around the coin's circumference. |

| Reverse description | Quartered royal arms of Castile and Leon displayed within a four-lobed (quadrilobe) inner frame: castles of Castile occupy the upper-left and lower-right quarters, while rampant lions of Leon fill the upper-right and lower-left quarters, all rendered in high relief in the Gothic tradition. The mint mark 'S' for Seville appears in the lower field between the lobes. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the circumferential Latin legend, which runs between the beaded border and the outer toothed rim. |
