| Obverse description | Crowned frontal effigy of King Enrique II, shown as a enthroned or bust figure facing the viewer, wearing a crenellated crown with visible side towers flanking the head, evoking the castles of Castile. The king's robes are depicted in a stylized Gothic manner typical of late 14th-century Castilian hammered coinage. A mint mark, likely the letter 'S' for Salamanca, appears in the field to the left of the bust.
