Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in the realistic portraiture style characteristic of Flavian coinage, with individualized facial features including a broad forehead and strong jaw. The laurel wreath, symbol of imperial authority, is clearly delineated encircling the head. The encircling legend runs around the periphery of the flan, with the emperor's full titulature abbreviated in Latin capitals. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hammered silver quinarii of this period.
