Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of the Emperor Trajan facing right, with the paludamentum fastened at the left shoulder, rendered in the high-relief hammered style characteristic of early second-century imperial coinage. The effigy displays Trajan's distinctive physiognomy — strong jaw, short cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath — executed with confident die engraving. A beaded border encircles the field. The imperial titulature legend runs continuously around the bust in capital Latin letters.
