Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in high relief with strong portraiture typical of the Trajanic period. The emperor's laureate wreath is clearly defined, with the drapery visible over the left shoulder. The obverse legend surrounds the effigy in a continuous arc, beginning at the lower left and running clockwise around the field. The portrait exhibits the characteristic strong jaw and prominent nose associated with authentic Trajanic coinage.
