| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in the characteristic realist portraiture style of the Flavian-Trajanic period. The emperor's strong facial features — prominent nose, firm jaw, and closely cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath — are depicted with fine detail typical of Rome Mint workmanship. The circular legend surrounding the bust reads IMP CAES NERVA TRAIAN AVG GERM, distributed across the field from the lower left and running clockwise. The flan is characteristically small and irregular, consistent with hammered quinarii of this period. |
