Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Tiberius facing right, rendered in fine high relief with carefully delineated hair bound by a laurel wreath. The portrait is executed in the classicizing Julio-Claudian style characteristic of the Lugdunum mint. A beaded border encircles the field. The Latin legend TI DIVI F AVGVSTVS runs around the periphery, identifying the emperor as Tiberius, son of the deified Augustus.
