Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in fine portrait style with naturalistic facial features, short curling hair, and a slightly idealized yet individualized likeness characteristic of Augustan court art. The legend AVGVSTVS curves around the left field, inscribed in Latin capitals. The portrait is executed with crisp die-cutting typical of official Augustan silver coinage, with the neck truncation cleanly delineated. The overall composition places the imperial effigy centrally within the flan, which exhibits the slightly irregular outline common to hammered silver quinarii of this period.
