Obverse description A large capital letter F occupies the central field, rendered in a bold gothic style within an incuse circle. The initial stands as a monogram for Ferdinando I, Prince of Castiglione delle Stiviere. A partial Latin legend runs along the periphery, partially obscured by the irregular flan edge typical of hammered coinage. The overall die style is characteristic of small Italian feudal issues of the early seventeenth century.
