| Obverse description | Draped bust of Pope Urban VIII facing right within a beaded inner circle, with the date 1629 incorporated into the circumferential legend. A small escutcheon of Vice-Legate Cosimo Bardi appears below the bust. The legend, rendered in Latin capital letters, encircles the portrait and identifies the pontiff by name and title.
