Obverse description Facing right, the bearded bust of Pope Innocent X is rendered in high relief in a bold, baroque style, wearing the papal cope richly decorated with ecclesiastical motifs and the camauro. The legend encircles the bust, reading INNOCENTIVS • X • PONT • MAX •, with the date 1645 positioned to the lower right of the effigy. The portrait is detailed and naturalistic, conveying papal authority through the elaborate vestments and strong facial features. The inner field is defined by a beaded border typical of hammered gold coinage of the period.
