Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing left, rendered in a realistic, characterful portrait style typical of Flavian imperial coinage. The emperor's features are boldly modelled, with short-cropped hair beneath a laurel wreath. The circular legend IMP VESP AVG runs around the periphery of the flan, separated from the portrait by a beaded border. The flan is irregular in shape, as is characteristic of struck quadrantes of this period.
