Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, depicted with characteristic portrait features of the Flavian dynasty. The bust is rendered in a naturalistic style consistent with Flavian imperial portraiture. The circumferential legend IMP VESP AVG runs around the periphery of the flan, partially visible within a dotted border. The die work, though worn, shows the bold modelling typical of Roman imperial quadrantes of the early Flavian period.
