Obverse description An owl depicted facing front with wings fully spread, perched upon a rectangular altar adorned with garlands. The bird is rendered in a stylized manner typical of Neronian bronze coinage. The circular legend surrounds the central device, occupying the full field of the flan. The overall composition is bold and compact, consistent with the small module of the quadrans denomination.

Obverse lettering NERO CLAV CAE AVG GER
(Translation: Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus. Nero Claudius, Caesar, emperor (Augustus), victor over the Germans.)
Reverse description A single upright olive branch occupies the center of the field, flanked by the large senatorial authorization letters S C (Senatus Consultum) positioned on either side of the branch's stem. Three dots appear above the branch in some specimens. The circular legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The composition is simple and uncluttered, characteristic of the Neronian quadrans series.
