Obverse description A simpulum (ladle used in Roman religious ceremonies) and a lituus (augural staff with curved top) displayed side by side in the field, serving as emblems of the pontifical and augural colleges respectively. The two instruments are rendered in bold, stylized relief characteristic of Augustan bronze coinage. A dotted border runs along the coin's periphery. The magistrates' names appear in a circular legend surrounding the devices.
