Reverse description The reverse displays the large senatorial authorisation monogram SC (Senatus Consulto) in bold, prominent letters occupying the central field, signifying that the coin was issued by decree of the Roman Senate. Encircling the SC are the legends of the moneyer's title rendered in a continuous circular inscription along the periphery of the flan. The lettering is deeply cut and well-spaced, filling the field in the characteristically functional style of Augustan bronze coinage. A beaded border frames the design at the rim.
