| Reverse description | Central field carries four horizontal registers of Arabic Kufic script filling the entire flan, bearing the titles and name of the reigning Amir 'Ali ibn Yusuf ibn Tashfin. The legend reads the standard Almoravid royal formula invoking his titles as Commander of the Muslims. The inscriptions are enclosed within a plain linear inner border surrounded by a beaded outer border. The die workmanship is bold and slightly irregular, consistent with the hand-struck production of Almoravid fractional silver coinage. |
