Reverse description Central vignette shows a herd of European bison — adults and a calf — grazing in a woodland clearing, executed in fine multicolour intaglio and offset against a green and ochre underprint with a leaf-pattern guilloche. A QR code appears at upper right, a blueberry sprig vignette sits at lower right, and the denomination numeral 20 is printed in large olive and orange letterpress at left and right margins.

PWPW — the Warsaw security printing house responsible for Polish banknotes, passports, and official documents since 1919 — periodically issues collector specimens under its own name to demonstrate current production capabilities to potential government and institutional clients. The Bisons Project is one such promotional series, not a circulating currency or official state issue of any kind. These pieces function as technical showcases: the QR code links to authentication infrastructure PWPW uses to pitch its anti-counterfeiting systems.

The European bison, nearly extinct by 1927 before a coordinated rebreeding program saved the species, has particular resonance in Poland given the Białowieża Forest's role in that effort.
