| Obverse description | Distorted Arabic legend arranged within a double square frame, itself inscribed within a beaded or linear circle; the four outer segments formed between the circle and the square each contain an oval decorative ornament. The inscription, rendered in a highly stylized and degraded Naskh script, records the mint name Qrim and the AH date 744. The overall composition is characteristic of late Golden Horde provincial copper coinage, where calligraphic legibility was frequently sacrificed in favor of decorative symmetry. |
