Obverse description Three-line Arabic legend occupying the central field, conveying the royal command of Queen Tulunbeg Hanum with a prayer for the prolongation of her reign. The inscription is presented in a straightforward epigraphic style characteristic of Golden Horde puls, enclosed within a linear border with dotted inner rim. The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat weak at the periphery, typical of hammered bronze coinage of the period. The field surrounding the legend shows a granular, uneven surface consistent with cast or roughly prepared bronze planchets.
