Obverse description Central field depicts a bird in left profile, rendered in a schematic, boldly struck style typical of Golden Horde copper coinage. An asterisk or star ornament accompanies the bird motif in the field. An Arabic inscription appears above the bird, conveying the legend meaning 'strong money.' The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat uneven, consistent with hammered provincial copper production of the period.
