| Reverse description | Two crossed palm branches displayed diagonally in the central field, their fronds splaying outward in opposite directions to form a saltire-like arrangement. Encircling the design is a Greek legend reading ΤΙΒΕΡΙΟΣ ΚΛΑΥΔΙΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΓΕΡΜΑΝΙΚΟΣ with the regnal year LΙΔ (year 14) inscribed in the lower field, corresponding to 54 AD. The palm branches are a standard symbol of Judaea and appear frequently on the bronze prutot issued under Roman procurators. The peripheral legend runs continuously around the coin's border. |
