Obverse description Eight-rayed star with a central pellet occupying the field, the rays extending toward a surrounding border of dots. Aramaic legend in two registers encircling the star, reading the royal title and regnal year. The flan is irregular and the strike characteristically uneven, as typical of Hasmonean bronze coinage of this period.
