| Obverse description | The allegorical figure of Neuchâtel, depicted as a nude male warrior holding a sword in his right hand, reaches upward toward a flag being presented by the helmeted allegory of Helvetia, who stands to his right bearing a shield. In the background, a cityscape of Neuchâtel and armed soldiers are visible in low relief, with radiating sunbeams emanating from the upper field.
