Reverse description Central field displays a cross pattée or simple cross within an inner circle, executed in the rough hammered style typical of Crusader copper issues. The cross divides the inner field into four quadrants, each plain. The surrounding marginal legend reads ANTIOCHIA in Latin capitals, partially legible around the edge of the flan. The coin exhibits the irregular planchet shape and uneven strike characteristic of medieval Levantine hammered coinage.
