Reverse description The reverse field is divided horizontally into two registers by a raised line. The upper register displays a sinuous or recumbent S-shaped motif lying on its side, a characteristic decorative element of this Bellovaci type. The lower register features three vertical rafter-like or chevron elements side by side, from which the coin series derives its name. The overall composition is boldly cast with strong relief despite the irregular flan, and the design is entirely aniconic and non-epigraphic.
