| Obverse description | Highly schematised Celtic head rendered in the characteristic abstract style of Cantian potin coinage. The design features a large central pellet-and-ring motif representing the eye, set within a rounded, stylised facial outline. Two die varieties are recorded: D2/1 presents the head facing left with a neck line and a distinct eye pellet, while D2/3 presents the head facing right with a neck line but no eye pellet. The overall composition is boldly cast with minimal surface detail, reflecting the degenerate artistic tradition of late Celtic Britain. |
