Obverse description An allegorical composition in high relief depicting a winged figure of Victory or Mercury in the center, holding a laurel wreath and a torch aloft, flanked by three seated classical figures resting upon symbolic objects including a cornucopia, an anvil, and various instruments of industry and the arts. A standing female figure to the right, robed and crowned, gazes toward the central flying figure, while a stack of books inscribed with the names of famous poets appears at the lower right, and the masts of a ship are visible in the background at left. The engraver's signature C. WIENER F. and the word LISBOA appear in the exergue.
