Additional information

The Warsaw Mint struck copper coins for Russian imperial circulation during the 1850s as part of Petersburg's deliberate policy of integrating the Kingdom of Poland's minting infrastructure into the broader imperial system — a process accelerated following the failed November Uprising of 1830. By the time these polushki were produced, the mint's Polish identity had been largely suppressed; it operated effectively as a provincial facility of the Russian imperial apparatus, with no Polish-language legends permitted on general circulation coinage.
