Obverse description Central device comprises the Cyrillic cipher of Tsar Alexander II — an ornate interlaced monogram 'А II' rendered in Slavic script — surmounted by a small Imperial crown with a crosslet finial. The monogram is elaborately embellished with foliate scrollwork and curling tendrils extending to either side, all set within a plain field. The coin border is defined by a continuous raised beaded rim encircling the entire obverse. No peripheral legend is present; the imperial identity is conveyed solely through the crowned monogram.
