Obverse description Right-facing draped and armored bust of Augustus III (August III Sas), crowned with an elaborate royal crown, his hair rendered in long flowing curls typical of the Baroque period. The effigy occupies the majority of the field, with the truncation showing rich drapery and armor detail. A Latin legend encircles the portrait within a beaded inner border, reading: D G AVG III R POL M D L R P D S & EL, abbreviating his full royal and electoral titles.
