| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Tsar Peter I (Peter the Great) facing right, wearing armor with an ornate beaded gorget and a flowing cloak fastened at the shoulder; the hair is rendered in vigorous baroque curls beneath a laurel wreath. The portrait occupies the majority of the coin's field in high relief, characteristic of the early Petrine coinage style. The Cyrillic legend encircles the bust along the periphery, reading ЦРЬ ПЕТРЪ АЛЕѮIЕВИЧЬ (Tsar Pyotr Alexeyevich). The rim is plain with a fine toothed border visible at the edge. |
