Obverse description Right-facing draped and crowned bust of Empress Elizabeth I occupying the central field, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a small imperial crown. A circular Cyrillic legend runs along the periphery, abbreviated to read 'By the Grace of God, Elizabeth I, Empress and Autocrat of All Russia,' with the mint mark ММД (Krasny Mint, Moscow) positioned beneath the truncation. The portrait is rendered in a Baroque court style typical of mid-18th-century Russian coinage.
