Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of Empress Anna Ioannovna facing right, wearing an imperial crown adorned with pearls and surmounted by a cross, her hair dressed in period fashion with a veil falling behind. The empress is depicted in elaborate court dress with visible decorative elements at the shoulder. The circular Cyrillic legend surrounding the effigy reads the imperial title, commencing at the lower left. The mintmark СПБ (St. Petersburg) appears in the lower field beneath the truncation.
