Obverse description Armored bust of King John II Casimir Vasa facing right, wearing a crown and draped in an ermine-lined mantle with ornate armor visible at the shoulder and chest. The king's long curly hair falls to his shoulders in the Baroque style characteristic of mid-17th century portraiture. A circular Latin legend runs along the coin's periphery, interrupted at the top by the crown. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the facial features and regalia, framed by a beaded or toothed border.
