Obverse description Crowned bust of King John II Casimir Vasa facing right, wearing a regal crown and royal robes, depicted in a stylized baroque manner typical of Polish hammered gold coinage of the mid-17th century. The effigy occupies the central field, with a Latin legend encircling the portrait along the periphery. The portrait shows fine detail in the crown and facial features despite the small flan.

Reverse description Central field displays the quartered royal arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, incorporating the Polish Eagle, the Lithuanian Rider (Pahonia), and the Vasa dynastic sheaf, surmounted by a royal crown. The date 1657 appears prominently within or adjacent to the shield. A Latin inscription encircles the entire composition along the coin's edge, typical of Kraków mint half-ducat issues of John II Casimir.
