| Obverse description | The Geneva civic arms displayed on an ornate baroque cartouche shield, quartered with a displayed eagle to dexter and a key to sinister — the traditional heraldic emblems of the city. A radiant sun in glory rises above the shield at the top of the field. The circular legend RESPUBL GENEVEN runs along the periphery, divided on either side of the central device. The design is executed in high relief with elaborate foliate scroll work flanking the shield. |
