| Obverse description | Within a circular medallion set inside an ornate gilt cartouche frame with foliate and acanthus scrollwork, two racing pigeons are depicted standing in relief against a landscape background, with an airplane in flight above them. The engraver's signature HUGUENIN appears at lower right of the medallion field. The cartouche terminates in an acorn finial at top with a suspension loop, and a foliate boss at the base. |
