| Reverse description | The reverse displays a deeply incuse impression of the obverse design, as is typical of thin hammered pfennigs of this type and period, where the single-sided or weakly double-sided striking results in a ghost image on the reverse. Within a beaded border, the faint outlines of a quadruped animal, possibly a lion or similar heraldic beast, are discernible in low relief against a worn field. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, consistent with Friesach-type pfennig production of the late 13th to early 14th century. |
