| Reverse description | Frontal bust of Saint Veit (St. Vitus), the patron saint of the city of St. Veit an der Glan, depicted in a stylized medieval manner with schematic facial features. A small star occupies the field within the legend space. No surrounding inscription is present, the design relying solely on the iconic effigy and star device as identifying elements. The surfaces show typical die wear and striking irregularities consistent with hammered coinage of 13th-century Carinthia. |

| Additional information |
Rudolf I of Habsburg acquired Carinthia and Carniola in 1276 after the defeat and death of Přemysl Otakar II of Bohemia, who had held the duchy since 1269. The St. Veit mint — long the primary striking facility for Carinthian coinage — continued operating under the new Habsburg administration, though attribution among Rudolf I and his sons Albert I and Rudolf II remains contested because the three ruled conjointly over the Austrian territories during this period, with no internal die evidence cleanly separating their issues.
