| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, the rampant Bohemian lion faces left, rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style typical of early sixteenth-century Bohemian small coinage. The lion displays the characteristic double tail associated with the Přemyslid heraldic tradition. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner beaded border, reading LUDOVICUS * PRIMUS *, identifying the issuer as King Louis I (Ludwig I) of Bohemia. |
