Obverse description Uniface hammered pfennig struck in the Vienna style. A trefoil frame dominates the design field, within which a horizontal shield band is depicted between the uncial letters L and A arranged counterclockwise, surmounted by a crown. Small trefoil ornaments occupy each of the three angles formed by the outer cusps of the trefoil surround. The overall design is characteristic of the joint coinage of Dukes Leopold IV and Albert V of Austria, executed with the irregular flan typical of early fifteenth-century Austrian pfennig production.
