Obverse description Facing left, a monk's head depicted in profile within a beaded or incuse line circle, wearing a cowl with a recessed cross struck below on the cowl's surface. The design is rendered in the bold, simplified style characteristic of late medieval Bavarian bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage.

Reverse description The Bavarian lozenge arms (Rautenschild) displayed as an arrangement of diamond-shaped lozenges in a roundel, enclosed within a plain raised circle. The lozenges are arranged in the traditional Bavarian heraldic pattern of alternating blue and white fusils, here rendered in relief against the flat field. The design is bold and well-centered within the inner circle.
