Obverse description Facing bust of a bishop wearing a mitre, rendered in a schematic Romanesque style within a beaded inner circle. The letters I and O flank the bust to the left and right respectively, serving as an abbreviated reference to the issuing bishop Johann (I). The bust features stylized facial details and episcopal vestments suggested by broad shoulders. The design is contained within a circular border set against the irregular square flan typical of medieval bracteate-style pfennigs.
