Obverse description Frontal standing figure of the margrave, rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner, occupying the central field within a plain inner border. The figure is depicted wearing a scaled or mail hauberk and holding what appears to be a scepter or sword. A partial Latin legend runs along the left margin of the flan, partially off-flan due to the irregular hammered planchet. The overall relief is low and the die-work is characteristic of early 13th-century Austrian provincial coinage.
