| Reverse description | Facing bust of a bishop, mitred and shown frontally within a beaded inner circle, rendered in a schematic, archaic style characteristic of early medieval hammered coinage. The face is depicted with a simple, stylized treatment of the features. The surrounding legend is heavily corrupted and largely illegible, a common feature of peripheral ecclesiastical issues of this period struck from deteriorating dies. Fragments of a Latin inscription are visible in the field around the inner circle. |
