Rann-type bracteates from Salzburg occupy an awkward transitional moment in Austrian minting — thicker than true bracteates yet thinner than the earlier solid pfennigs, reflecting the Rhine Valley influence pushing eastward into the Alpine mints during the early thirteenth century. The joint attribution to Eberhard II and Leopold VI places this squarely in the period when the Archbishop of Salzburg and the Duke of Austria maintained an uneasy but productive working relationship, with shared coinage serving practical commercial needs along the Salzach corridor. CNA Ck26 is among the scarcer attributions in the Salzburg bracteate sequence.
