| Obverse description | Central shield bearing a rampant lion passant to the left, representing the arms of the city of Chur, set within a plain rectangular cartouche. The initials C and R flank the shield on either side within the field, serving as an abbreviated city inscription. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border running along the coin's periphery. The hammered flan exhibits characteristic irregularity consistent with mid-17th-century municipal coinage. The overall style is typical of small Swiss city pfennig issues of the period. |
